Circles of Courage
A drum circle for the cancer community

Where Every Beat is the Heartbeat of Courage

Circles of courage is a safe, nurturing, and empowering space for all those touched by cancer – survivors, individuals living with cancer, and the loved ones who walk beside them. Through rhythm and community, we come together to nurture resilience, honour each journey, and remember that we do not face this path alone.

The Power of the Circle

The circle is an ancient symbol of unity, belonging, and healing. In a circle there is no hierarchy – each person stands equal, each presence contributing to the whole. The circle holds us in connection, creating a space where we can listen deeply, share honestly, and be supported just as we are.

Courage lives in the strength it takes to face uncertainty, to keep the heart open, and to find hope in each new day. A circle of courage is a gathering rooted in shared strength, mutual support, and collective healing.

Rhythm as a Pathway to Healing

Through the universal language of drumming, we create a space to belong, grow, and express ourselves freely. No musical experience is needed – only a willingness to feel the vibrations and allow them to flow through you.

As our rhythms entrain forming a collective pulse, each beat becomes a remembering … we are not alone.

Together, we release stress, awaken joy, and create harmony through sound, vibration, and spirit. In the moment, we find lightness. In the rhythm, we find courage. In the circle, we find community.

Together we are the circle. Together we are courage.

Why Drumming?

Drumming offers profound benefits for healing and wellbeing:

  • Calms the nervous system: Repetitive rhythms help reduce stress and invite a sense of peace
  • Restores energy and vitality: The drum awakens inner strength and reconnects us with our natural life force.
  • Supports emotional expression: When words fall short, the drum gives voice to what lives in the heart
  • Encourages healing: Research shows drumming can enhance immune response and overall well-being
  • Strengthens connection: Sharing rhythm builds trust, belonging, and community with others who understand the journey

An Invitation

You are warmly invited to step into the circle and join us as we weave a shared space of healing, hope, and connection … one heartbeat, one rhythm, one circle at a time

All drums and percussion are provided.

Circles will be held monthly at a beautiful location in the heart of Epping Forest. Open to all within the cancer community.
